Fees

Assessment fees include but are not limited to the following:

Cognitive Assessment – $1100

WPPSI-III, WISC-V or WAIS-IV depending on the child’s age. Includes collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), consultation with parent, assessment session (generally 60 to 75 minutes’ duration), feedback following the assessment, and provision of a report with recommendations.

Assessment for Dyslexia / Specific Learning Disorders – $1950

Cognitive, Literacy, and Phonological Processing Assessment. Assessment of maths skills may be included upon request. Assessment may also include measures of attention, emotional presentation/behaviour and executive functioning. Includes collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), consultation with parent, assessment session (generally performed over two days; each session is around 90 minutes to 2 hours’ duration), feedback following the assessment, and provision of a report with recommendations. Please note: if a cognitive assessment is not required, the cost for an academic/educational assessment (e.g. WIAT-III) is $1200.

Assessment for Giftedness – $1200

Cognitive assessment and administration of a Giftedness checklist (parent and teacher). Includes collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), consultation with parent, assessment session (around 60 to 75 minutes’ duration), feedback following the assessment, and provision of a report with recommendations. Please note: if academic assessment (e.g. WIAT-III) is also requested, the cost is $1900.

Assessment for Early School Entry – $1100

Cognitive assessment. Includes collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), consultation with parent, assessment session (around 60 to 75 minutes’ duration), feedback following the assessment, and provision of a report with recommendations. Please note: if academic assessment is also requested, the cost is $1300.

Dyslexia Screening for Children in Prep or Grade 1 – $890

Includes collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), consultation with parent, assessment session (around an hours’ duration), feedback following the assessment, and provision of a brief report with recommendations.

Early Literacy Screening for Children in 4-Year-Old Kindergarten – $550

Involves collection of information (e.g. parent and teacher questionnaires), administration of a language and communication checklist and a screener of around 15 minutes’ duration, with a brief report indicating areas of difficulty, and recommendations.

Assessment of Attention, Executive Functioning, and / or Behaviour (e.g. assessment for ADHD) – please ask us about fees – this will depend on which assessment tools are required

Involves provision of standardised questionnaires to parents, teachers, and sometimes the child themselves to assess attention problems (inattention and / or hyperactivity), executive functioning (including organisation, planning, and functional working memory), and behaviour. A cognitive assessment may also be required.

Full ADHD assessment (including cognitive assessment) is $1800 – this includes clinical interview and administration of standardised questionnaires, as well as the cognitive testing. ADHD assessment without a cognitive assessment is $1100.

‘Partial’ assessment fees available on request (e.g. your child may have had a cognitive assessment within the last two years, but requires academic and other diagnostic assessments to determine the presence of a Specific Learning Disorder, or ADHD).

Reports are usually provided within 3-4 weeks of the appointment. All reports are emailed in PDF format. A hard copy of the report can be provided upon request (via registered post), for an additional $10.

Follow-up services (e.g. a meeting with the school to discuss the report and recommendations) will be billed at $235 an hour (or $120 per half hour or part thereof). The fee for follow-up services is payable at the time of booking.

Fees for counselling / therapy sessions ($230 per 50 minute session) are payable at the end of the session.

Fees for small group programs (e.g. Secret Agent Society) provided upon request.

With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP you may be able to access Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions of counselling / therapy within a calendar year. Discuss your options with your GP or Paediatrician. We are not NDIS registered, however can see NDIS clients who self-manage, or who are plan managed.

Private Health rebates are available – check with your individual provider.

When seeing a psychologist, generally one-hour blocks are reserved for therapy / counselling appointments, whilst a block of up to 6 hours is reserved for assessments.

Therapy / Counselling Appointments: If you cannot attend, we require at least 24 hours’ notice. A full session fee may be charged for non-attendance or cancellations within 24 hours prior to the session, unless a medical certificate can be produced.

Assessments: A non-refundable deposit of $250.00 may be required for assessments. This deposit needs to be made at the time of booking – either via direct deposit (bank transfer), or credit card. The remainder of the fee is payable after administration of the assessments. If the final payment is not provided at the end of the assessment administration, provision of the report may be delayed (report writing will only begin after the final payment is received).

Appointments for assessments can be cancelled up to five business days before the appointment date. Bookings cancelled after this time will attract the entire deposit and no refund will be issued (unless a medical certificate is provided).

Please allow at least 48 hours’ notice for reschedule of an assessment booking. A $55 fee will be charged for any assessment bookings rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled assessment session.
